For your Boat Licence and Jetski Licence near Brisbane, Wynnum, and Manly in QLD, iiCAPTAIN have a local Boatsafe training provider who accommodates students’ needs all year round, 7 days a week.
We meet at Lota Reserve, Lota on The Esplanade where you can grab a coffee at the nearby cafe before sitting for the theory component. We keep the theory as quick and easy as possible, leaving more time to spend on the water. Once the theory is completed, you jump onto the boat for the Recreational Boat Licence practical, and if you have booked for Jetski as well, this will follow once you’ve completed the Boat Licence.
We offer you the choice of using one of our boats (for free), or using your own boat to do your boat licence if you and your mates want to do it together as a group. Sometimes when we have large bookings we run multiple classes at the same time (multiple trainers on multiple boats and Jetski’s) to keep the group sizes small so that you’re not sitting around waiting.
Less time sitting in a classroom, more time to spend on the water
iiCAPTAIN understands that you don’t want to be waiting around, sitting in a classroom listening to a trainer, so we keep it as simple and easy as possible, making sure you know what you need to know.
If you have just become the proud owner of a new boat (or you’re even smarter and have a mate who is) and are keen to get out on the water, we can come with you to show you the ropes and give you piece of mind. Book a course with us, (book here) and we will have someone meet you at the ramp when you first take it out for a spin.
Our experts at iiCaptain and Queensland Boat School will assist to launch the boat, show you the best way to set up and handle the ropes and all the other basics that you are going to need to know.
Once our assessor has “shown you the ropes” and you have reached a certain level of confidence, you will be assessed for your Recreational Boat License “anywhere / anytime”. As soon as you complete the assessment, the Assessor will give you your Statement of Competency, you will then have up to six months to take that to Department of Transport & Main Roads to pay the small fee and get you Boat License or your PWC License.
This flexibility means that if you want a peaceful relaxing lesson, choose a time when there aren’t many boaters. Choose a weekday, a Sunday or early before work on a weekday before it gets too hot and windy. Or if you have left it to the last minute and just want to get it done, we can help you there too.
We have many Skippers Ticket Assessors and a range of boats, so if you book a date and time we will coordinate an assessor to meet you there.
All of this should only take about 3 – 5 hours if you have studied using the can handle your boat safely – it’s about boating safety).
Be a Better Boater
