EVERY DAY we have trainers ready to go.
Recreational Boat Licence course takes approximately 3 – 5 hours, or a bit longer is you’re getting your Jet Ski licence as well.
You will learn many techniques and other aspects of seamanship that will make your life easy on the water. Our patient team will take you through the practical – all our students tell us that is the fun part!

How we do it
Before you come in for your face to face session, you must have successfully completed the Online Course. The online instruction course gives you the knowledge to pass the Maritime Safety Queensland written assessment and practical assessment. We will send you details along with your booking confirmation. Please note that there will be an additional fee when you start the online course that is separate to the course fees.
You arrive at the Lota Reserve, Lota and meet the trainer where they will show you where to go. We’ll sit undercover by the water’s edge to do the 45 minute multiple-choice test.
When you have passed – we then all go a short way up the road to the South Manly Boat Ramp where you get in the boat and get guided through the practical by our trainer assessor. The assessor will demonstrate, you will practice, and when your training is over, you get assessed. Passing students receive a Statement of Competency, this is NOT your licence.. You will have six months from the date of issue to take it to the Department of Transport & Main Roads and pay their fee to be issued with your Boat or PWC Licence. current fees are listed here
